Itinerary In Detail

Days 1 Departure at 5:30 hr. from Thamel after an approx. 6 hours drive we reach Kodari (China /Nepal Border). Further half hr. drive by truck will being us to Zhagmu, where after completion of immigration formalities all check drive to Nyalam. Overnight in hotel.

Days 2 Drive from Nyalam to Mala (4000m.) via Menhating

Days 3 Drive from Mala to Saga (4840 m.) crossing the river "Yarling Tsangpo" by ferry. From Saga drive to Tsongpa (4500 m.) and break camp in between Baryang (4540m.) and overnight in Camps

Days 4  Drive from Saga to Sigar. O/N at Hotel, or Drive on further towards Mayumla (4900 m.) and stay overnight near the river banks.

Days 5  Drive and Cross the Mayumla pass and drive to Lake Mansarovar (4520 m.). Over night in camps.s

Days 6 Drive to Darchen (4,700 m.). O/N at Hotel in Darchen or in tents.

Days 7 From Darchen start trek around Mt. Kailash (6656 m.). O/N in tents.

Days 8 Trek and cross the Dormala pass (5600 m.). O/N in tent.

Days 9 Trek and return to darchen. O/N in tents.

Days 10 Start return journey by driving up to Samsang. O/N in tents

Days 11 Drive from Samsang to Tsongpa. O/N in tents.

Days 12 Drive from Tsongpa to Saga or Mala. O/N in tents.

Days 13 Drive from Saga or Mala to Zhangmu. O/N at Zhangmu Hotel.

Days 14 Zhangmu to Kathmandu

(Excursion Grading: moderate - strenuous)

Added days: On Day 1, we will pick you up from the airport, check you into your hotel, and provide you with orientation and detailed program information. On day 2, we will give you a guided tour of Kathmandu Valley. On the last day, we offer sightseeing in Bhaktapur plus a culture show in the evening, (All these excursions are not chargeable - It is our complimentary service to you.)
