Mountaineering (Tibet)
Tibet, known as "The Roof of the World", boasts
a number of mountains systems and
world-celebrated high peaks, and has the places
where to realize the mountaineers dream. So far,
there are 46 peaks opened to mountaineers
including Mt. Everest (Qomolangma); these
mountains have different altitudes with

the world. There are many peaks in the Tibet Plateau that have
remained untouched by human beings. The Roof of the World is a
world of mountains, which possesses ever challenges to
mountaineers, who always want to scale new heights or climb
through different routes. The best season starts from March -
mid June and mid August - mid November.
We directly organize our mountaineering expedition
through CTMA - the only professional association in Tibet
responsible for organising the mountaineering activities in TAR.
So far we have organized most of the eight thousander
peaks including Mt. Everest. We have included some of the peaks
for mountaineering in Tibet in this web site. Any query
concerning mountaineering in Tibet is welcome. |
